LIQUID AMMONIA TECHNICAL GOST 9-92

 

     Liquid ammoniam technical is an alkali reactive solution of ammoniam in water.

     It is bright colorless or pale-yellow liquid with ammoniam content, %, 25,0 minimum.

    According to the purposes of usage two types of liquid ammoniam are produced:

    Type A - for various branches of industry;

    Type В - as agricultural fertilizer.

    Liquid ammonia is fire-resistant, inexplosive liquid. Degassing of ammoniam vapors can result in explosive concentra­tion in the room. Standard gaseous ammoniam evolved from liquid ammoniam can be described as explosive, toxic, inflammable gas with strong odor.

     Liquid ammoniam should be stored in air proof tanks inside warehouses or in specially designed storage containers.

     Transported by railway, by truck and by vessel in air proof transport facilities according to Cargo Transportation Regulations for particular kind of transport.

     Liquid ammoniam A type is transported in r/w tank cars or in ammoniam truck cars.

     Liquid ammoniam В type is transported in bottom discharged tanks and in ammoniam truck cars.

     Tanks are to be loaded at 95% maximum.
